Cherokee Tennis Association offers Mixed Doubles Leagues in the Spring and Fall. USTA membership is required. A team match will consist of 3 lines of doubles with a 10 point tie break in lieu of a third set.
USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles allows players of different NTRP levels to play together, encouraging participants to form teams with their friends, family and co-workers. Players without a NTRP rating are permitted to self-rate. If a participant is actively playing in the USTA League Tennis Adult, then the Mixed Doubles match results do not affect the person's rating. A player who competes only in the Mixed Doubles leagues will generate a Mixed Doubles Rating.
The winners from each level will advance to the State Championship in August. In order to have a successful season, we need lots of teams. Please start speaking with everyone you know who plays at the 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 levels. Encourage them to form teams, the more the better! If you have a very large team, consider splitting into two teams. You only need 6 players each week. If you have court availability issues, we'll work with you! And as always, we'll accommodate anyone who has Men's/Women's USTA State playoff conflicts during the season!
A player's rating cannot exceed the highest rating shown on the chart. Players must be within 1.0 level of each other.

Southern Combo Doubles is currently the fastest growing adult program in USTA Southern. With a participation base of 55,000, you might be wondering what keeps the players coming back year after year? The answer is simple... Combo Doubles is FUN! The program allows participants to self rate, thus making it easy to play with family and friends. For most players, this is the program's single most attractive attribute. Local team play is available in Adult (same gender) combined levels 5.0, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5. Team matches consist of three doubles matches with a 10 point tie-break for the 3rd set.
Player Requirements: Teams must have a minimum of 6 eligible players registered by the deadline. It is suggested that there are no more than 10 players on a roster as only 6 are needed to play each match. Teams must play at the combined level (the combined NTRP rating of a doubles team). Teams must have at least 3 players rated lower than the maximum rating per player level. This league does not affect NTRP ratings.
An individual player’s rating must not exceed the highest rating allowed per level as follows:
5.0 level – rating cannot exceed 2.5 7.5 level – rating cannot exceed 4.0
5.5 level – rating cannot exceed 3.0 8.5 level – rating cannot exceed 5.0
6.5 level – rating cannot exceed 3.5 9.5 level – rating cannot exceed 5.5
Men play Tuesdays at 7:00 PM.
Women play Mondays at 7:00 PM. Play time can be flexible if both competing teams agree. All matches must be completed by Sundays 7pm.
